Job Description

Learning Exchange (Pty) Ltd is looking for an MQA accredited assessor and moderator for the following qualification: 

62869 - National Certificate: Rockbreaking: Surface Excavations


Registration in any other qualifications and unit standards will be an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Asses in classroom environment & practical environment.

·         Advising regarding updating / adapting training material

·         Training Material Development

·         Work as part of the team

·         Ability to adapt to diverse culture of the organisation

·         The capacity to clearly present information , either written or verbal

·         Must be cooperate with others to work towards a common goal

Assessors will need to:

-         Plan, prepare and manage the assessment process

-         Prepare the candidate for assessment

-         Conduct the assessment

-         Judge the evidence of a learners performance, knowledge and understanding against the national standards

-         Decide whether the learner has demonstrated competence

-         Provide feedback to the learner

-         Maintain accurate records

-         Record all the assessment results

-         Review the assessment

Moderators will need to:

-         Be appointed by management.

-         be expected to use formal process and procedure when implementing moderation.

-         Must be trained through an accredited training provider on the unit standard which is being moderated.

-         be responsible for ensuring that assessment are consistent, accurate and well designed.

-         be expected to plan and prepare for moderation as well as maintain moderator reports, conduct moderation, advise and support assessors, report and record moderation, administer the moderation process and suggest improvements to the system

The moderator will as also be expected to -

-         Show evidence of ETD expertise and exposure to moderation practices, advise assessors and maintain the quality of assessments conducted by assessors.

-         Sample assessments systematically to confirm the quality and consistency of assessment decisions made by assessors.

Minimum Requirements

MUST be registered as an assessor and/or moderator with MQA

MUST have own transport
